Rosti Group CEO’s 2011 Interim report
As 2011 is now quickly coming to an end I would like give you our interim report for this year and in summary, 2011 is going to be a successful year for the Rosti Group.
Since the merger between Rosti Technical Plastics and Stella Plastics into the new Rosti Group we have developed the future strategy for Rosti. This has also involved the changes that we have already announced during 2011, with the relocation of our Linkoping (Sweden) business and the selling of our Dutch facility in Tilburg.
The selling of Tilburg is expected to be completed before Christmas 2011. Tilburg has developed very well over the last two years, but we believe that the possibilities for Tilburg going forward are higher with the new owner Helvoet which already has substantial operations in the BeNeLux area.
It is important to note that the selling of Tilburg does not mean that we are changing our strategy and investments towards the Medical segment in the other Rosti sites. The Medical segment remains a focus growth area for the Rosti Group.
Growth by acquisitions formed an important part of our strategic review as we continue to see a customer-pull to add facilities and capabilities in the regions we are currently in and in future new territories. We have already started our search for “Rosti-like” companies with clear specifications in
- High precision injection moulding and contract manufacturing
- In our core segments of Electrical, Packaging, Medical and Automotive
- In South East Asia as well as Central and Eastern Europe
Some important achievements within the Rosti Group in 2011 include
- a good profitability for the group - in line with our financial target
- a year on year growth of 3% on 2010 sales and in line with our budget
- a good order intake – in line with our financial target - that will give Rosti a significant sales growth in 2012
- significant growth opportunities identified with all top 5 Rosti customers
- excellent improvements in operations in Poland and in the Netherlands
- implementation of the Medical wing in China
- full integration of the Stella GP Plastics companies in the Rosti Group; both locations are now branded Rosti GP with their own Customer Care Centres to be fully functional soon
- new major customer awards in Scotland, India and China
- best energy initiative award in Scotland
We communicated to all our employees earlier this year the ROSTI WAY and the Rosti Core Values to maintain and strengthen our drive towards our vision of being 1st Choice in precision injection moulding and achieving our mission in increasing our competitiveness in the market place. We have launched our Rosti Sigma programme which will go a long way to delivering some of our objectives for the coming years in meeting and exceeding our customers & shareholder expectations.
We Add Value to all our customers by being:
- Responsive
- Open
- Sustainable
- Trustworthy
