Closure of a Rosti UK Facility

Mar 30, 2004

Rosti closes its Wales facility to secure the long-term future of the UK business.

Manufacturing in the UK has proved more and more difficult over the past several years with few signs of recovery. Wales has been no exception to this, despite hard work from the management team and the workforce in an attempt to rationalise the business.

A thorough analysis has clearly showed that the Rosti Group does not have a financially viable business in Wales going forward and Rosti Technical Plastics (UK) Ltd. has today given notice to its employees and recognised trade union of a proposed closure of the facility. A formal collective and individual consultative process with elected representatives of the workforce will as a result begin on Wednesday 31 March 2004.

These difficult measures are deeply regretted, but are required to ensure that the Rosti Group continues to adapt to the changing global markets in which the Group operates and ensure adherence to the strategy of securing the long-term future of the UK business.
