Rosti awarded "Processor of the Year 2009" by the UK Plastics Industry - Rosti - also winner of the category Best Environmental or Energy Efficiency Programme
On Friday 2nd October 2009 the ninth annual Plastics Industry Awards took place at the London Hilton, Park Lane. Guest presenter Paul Ross announced the winners to a record crowd of over 500 plastics professionals at the event's gala dinner.
The awards were open to all companies involved in the UK plastics industry including OEM manufacturers, processors and consultants.
Rosti Technical Plastics (UK) Ltd was shortlisted as finalists in two categories, Best Environmental or Energy Efficiency Programme and the night's premier award, Processor of the Year. Rosti were announced as winners of both titles.

The judges made the following comments on the performance and achievements of Rosti:
Processor of the Year
"Won by Rosti Technical Plastics of Larkhall for its combination of day-to-day excellence with far sighted, creative thinking. Recent innovations at Rosti include a dedicated customer care centre; installation of new energy saving lighting, ongoing recruitment of apprentices despite the recession and continued investment in new manufacturing plant."
Best Environmental or Energy Efficiency Programme
"The company has made a 23% saving and is at the half-way mark in its waste reduction programme. Rosti are also ahead of target with plans to reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions by 12%. It is also working to install a wind turbine to supply 60% of its energy needs."
The Plastics Industry Awards is the industry's most prestigious awards initiative, recognising and celebrating achievement throughout the UK plastics industry. The awards offer an insight into current developments in materials usage, product design and innovative manufacturing. Entries came from all sectors of the industry, highlighting a wide range of novel solutions.
