Rosti stays in the A.P. Moller - Maersk Group

The Board of Rosti A/S and the shareholder A. P. Møller - Mærsk A/S have decided to cease the plan to divest the Rosti Technical Plastics (RTP) group of companies. Several potential buyers showed interest in acquiring RTP but no one was able to offer a satisfactory price, and RTP will now continue "business as usual" under the current A.P. Møller - Mærsk A/S 100% ownership.

"Rosti has proven able to build a competitive platform and strong customer relationships", says Stig Hoffmeyer, CEO of Rosti. "Rosti is today able to stand on its own as a unified team of Rosti people servicing customers with high quality plastic parts and products at competitive prices".

Despite the economic turmoil during the latter part of 2008, the financial performance of RTP was in line with expectations. According to Stig Hoffmeyer, the recent years' positive development comes down to Rosti’s ability to deliver finished plastic products to its customers. This way, RTP has become a global business partner with added value and services instead of a local component supplier. He therefore believes that Rosti has potential to continue to grow in the coming years.

"For Rosti, the current financial turmoil also provides a window of opportunities taking over a larger share of our customers' plastic related production", says Stig Hoffmeyer.
