Rosti Suzhou demands increase in Automotive
Rosti Suzhou demands increase in the Automotive market
In 2009, China's auto market has gradually recovered and is experiencing relatively rapid growth locally, thanks to both the adjustment and stimulus plan for the automobile industry and a series of policies by the Chinese government in boosting domestic demand.
Under the plan, the government will lower the purchase tax on cars under 1.6 liters from 10 percent to 5 percent from January 20 to December 31 2009 in a bid to stimulate sales.
It will also allocate 5 billion yuan (US$730 million) to provide one-off allowances to farmers to upgrade their three-wheeled vehicles and low-speed trucks to mini-trucks or purchase new mini-vans under 1.3 liters from March 1 to December 31. It will also increase subsidies for people to scrap their old cars and will improve current regulations that restrict car purchase.
Rosti Suzhou is currently supplying Air Intake Manifolds which is mainly used for 1.0 liter engine and will benefit from the stimulus package. "We expect to see a sharp increase in demand during the period March to May and may be even more during the vehicles high season" said Karl Stillman, Rosti's Regional Director of Sales.
