Highly engaged staff celebrated Rosti’s 75th birthday

As Rosti’s global Internal Communication Manager and therefore responsible for the The Rosti Way – the company’s cultural and core value-related work – Jannike Linné played a central role in coordinating the major 75th birthday celebrations, which after months of both looking back and forward in time resulted in a Rosti Way Day – a day that was celebrated at all of Rosti’s sites worldwide.

“Rosti’s employees live and work in the environment and society around our factories and offices – where our families, friends and fellow citizens are – and with CSR activities we want to do good and create benefits.” – Jannike Linné, Group Internal Communication Manager

On the special day, all 3 500 employees were invited to celebrate at their respective sites 75 years of success that has made the company what it is today – and to devote a thought or two to the challenges and opportunities of the future. A presentation of the company’s history contributed to the employees’ knowledge of, and pride in, Rosti – it is a journey that has taken us from manufacturers of Bakelite light-bulb holders in the early 1950s and the famous Margrethe bowl to today’s organisation with factories all over the world that produce high-quality products for well-known brands that we use every day.

Throughout the Group, all employees were highly engaged in local CSR activities. All sites, including the head office in Malmö, took part in efforts to clean up the local environment through the Operation Clean Sweep initiative.

In Romania, all those who could, and wanted to, donated blood, and there was also an autumn clean-up of a botanical garden and the construction of an insect hotel. In Poland, an initiative by technicians created an inventive ‘sensory board’ for disabled children, full of things to screw in, feel or squeeze. In China, employees sold second-hand items and the proceeds were donated to a children’s home. Rosti Malaysia has some very artistic staff members who painted and sculpted works for an auction, with the money raised going to charity. Without a doubt, there was a wide range of CSR activities across the factories, but everyone made a considerable contribution to their own local environment.

“Rosti’s employees live and work in the environment and society around our factories and offices – where our families, friends and fellow citizens are – and with CSR activities we want to do good and create benefits”, says Jannike Linné.

Jannike Linné is very satisfied with the 75th birthday celebrations, particularly the cooperation shown in the global communication team, which created a joint concept for Rosti’s 75th birthday and made it a reality. An initiative from some employees at the head office resulted in a flossing challenge, which was a success and generated many laughs and films on the internal communications platform.

“This was true teamwork between all the unit’s internal communication officers and everyone is very pleased, and not least proud, to be a part of Rosti, especially after seeing a presentation of the company’s fantastic history. The flossing challenge was a surprising and fun element which shows that Rosti’s employees have both a sense of humour and a competitive instinct”, concludes Jannike Linné with a big smile.
