Your new role:
We are currently recruiting for a Design Engineer (Plastics) to join our team at our Innovation Centre. As a CAD Design Engineer, you will be expected to contribute to various phases of the product development process and analysis, applying your knowledge to engineer robust, feasible, production ready product designs.
Your tasks consists of:
Reporting to the Technical Director you will be responsible for the design and feasibility of precision moulded products / tooling, and other equipment and fixtures to support our sales team prior to RFQ and ultimately NPI into plant. Supporting the Technical Director including site visits when required, to maintain high levels of housekeeping including revision control. Along with the main responsibilities others will include:
• Understanding of structural design of mechanisms and components.
• Possess creative and analytical skills to propose and assess best mechanical solutions together with experience in various CAD packages (Creo, etc.)
• Broad knowledge of manufacturing processes, primarily plastic injection moulding and 3D printing techniques.
• Competence in material selection.
• Experience with Moldflow also preferred (training will be provided)
• Experienced in prototyping, testing and proving feasibility of a design.
• Ability to work on concurrent projects, ensuring deadlines are met on time.
• Liaises with the toolmaker together with the Injection & Tooling Engineer to optimize the design of parts.
• A team player, ready to share in the demands of a small team.
• Willingness to support customer visits within global Rosti locations
• Must be a UK resident or possess a working visa.
