About Carbon
Carbon is a pioneering force in the world of additive manufacturing. Their advanced technology offers design freedom and customization, reducing the total number of required components while eliminating tooling costs. With a broad range of materials—including rigid and flexible polyurethane, silicone, and more—Carbon’s platform makes it possible to manufacture parts with complex geometries that were previously impossible using traditional manufacturing methods.
Digital Light Synthesis™ is an additive manufacturing technique that uses both light and oxygen to build parts, with autonomous optimization of the printing process through artificial intelligence and machine learning.
It operates as follows:
- Projects UV images generated by a digital light engine through an oxygen-permeable window into a pool of UV-curable resin.
- Parts are cured layer by layer, with each layer ranging from 25 to 100 microns.
- A washing or rinsing process is performed to remove excess material.
- Support structures are then removed, and the parts are placed into ovens for final curing.
This process produces production-ready components that feature outstanding mechanical properties, resolution, and surface finish—all completed in days rather than weeks. While it can prototype impressive parts, its true specialty lies in consistent and repeated production runs.

The Significance of the Partnership
This partnership is significant not only for Rosti but also for the industries we serve. Our adoption of Carbon DLS™ technology in our innovation labs is an outstanding solution that enables faster manufacturing processes, ensuring a quicker time-to-market for our customers’ products. With Carbon technology, we can deliver superior precision, quality, and efficiency—setting us apart from our competitors.
Rosti’s partnership with Carbon has provided our global organization with advanced capabilities to 3D print prototypes and production parts using Carbon® M3 printers and Digital Light Synthesis™ technology. This technology creates parts made from incredible elastomeric and rigid materials that are comparable to or even better than those produced by injection molding, in terms of finish and quality. Carbon M3 is not only a true digital manufacturing technology for prototyping, but it’s also ideal for producing customized parts and contract manufacturing. By leveraging Carbon’s 3D printing technology, Rosti will help our customers design, prototype, and print functional components for production use across industries such as medical, industrial, consumer, and automotive sectors.
Setting Rosti Apart
