Rosti’s Global Technology Roadmap – Innovative Technology for Tomorrow

Digital Technology Roadmap

For many years, our Global Technology Roadmap has driven us to continually invest time, money, and engineering expertise in identifying, analyzing, and developing innovative injection molding technologies.

Our commitment to developing new capabilities through research and development ensures we stay at the forefront of the global plastic injection molding market, acting as a close strategic contract manufacturing partner for our customers.

What is the Rosti Group Global Technology Roadmap?

From our three Digital Innovation Centers in China, Poland, and the US, the heads of each department form the Global Technology Group, testing and preparing new injection molding capabilities to bring to market.

Our engineers have been analyzing and testing new technologies for many years, with success stories of bringing new manufacturing methods to market, which our customers are using today.

Our investment in additive manufacturing demonstrates both the versatile capability to produce complex parts not possible with a single tool, and a cost-effective process to create complementary lower-volume parts without investing in expensive molded tools.

We’re the first in China to have the latest technology, having acquired both the machine and the technology.

We use an established Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs) development process, originally developed by NASA. This is a standard approach for showing how mature a technology is and when it can be implemented in production.

This rigorously scrutinizes each developmental stage of a new capability to ensure that only the best-fit and commercially viable ones reach a ‘technology readiness’ stage. This means a particular capability can be offered to a customer and is ready for production.

In the rapidly changing plastic injection molding market, new methods and technological developments are constantly being discussed.

The role of the Global Technology Group is to benchmark each new idea against a Priority Matrix to decide which technologies to move forward with, based on strict criteria. This provides clear direction on where to focus resources and investment, concentrating only on technologies that are commercially viable and aligned with the markets we serve.

As we all know, not all technologies reach a stage where they are fully adopted or provide real benefits.

What is the purpose of the Global Technology Roadmap?

At Rosti, our commitment to our customers is to constantly improve production efficiencies, reduce the environmental impact of our operations and products, and ensure that we are using and developing top capabilities in the injection molding market.

As a partner to some of the world’s leading brands, Rosti must be able to offer production-ready solutions using cutting-edge technologies to address new challenges our customers face.

On the other hand, in line with our transparent client relationships, we can clearly explain why a capability is not viable, using our in-house evidence and analysis.

Collaborating with our customers, suppliers, and teams, we’re always listening to the markets we operate in, looking for ideas and new approaches to injection molding. By identifying new opportunities early, our Innovation Center teams start gathering key information to select which opportunities are worthy of investment and testing.

How do customers benefit?

Rosti leads in technological innovation and capabilities, providing customers with solutions not available elsewhere in the market.

We deliver production-ready technologies, allowing customers to benefit from faster time to market, confident that a particular technological capability is suitable for their needs. This gives our customers a competitive advantage in their respective markets.

A major benefit for Global Technology Group customers is cost savings from the testing and validation stage through to reduced production costs.

The main goal of technological innovation is to save time and money while improving the quality of parts and products. Here are three major benefits to customers when we bring innovative capabilities to market –

  • Automation eliminates manual handling and reduces production disruptions
  • Speed to Market – shortening prototyping and testing times
  • Reducing production processes and tooling

Our customers also benefit from access to ideas and capabilities worldwide, thanks to our three strategically located teams. Knowledge and information sharing provides a constant flow of insights, allowing us to give customers solutions and perspectives they might not know about.
