We are pleased to announce the signing of an extension to our new injection moulding facility in Chennai, India.
This expansion comes even before the original site has been completed, signalling strong momentum for Rosti Asia’s long-term strategy in the region and commitment to global growth.
The original decision to establish a facility in India stemmed from a strategic collaboration with a long-standing customer seeking a production footprint in the region. With India fast becoming one of the world’s most dynamic economies and a crucial export hub to Asia, Europe, and the US, this move supports Rosti’s ambition to grow its capacity in key markets.
The expansion provides Rosti with 7,500 square metres of manufacturing space at the same location, enabling us to offer increased production flexibility and accommodate the needs of both existing and new customers. Once fully operational, the facility will house 45 state-of-the-art injection moulding machines ranging from 35 to 500 tons, delivering services across precision moulding, supply chain management and contract manufacturing.
“We are thrilled to extend our investment in India while still developing the original facility. This opportunity strengthens our footprint in Asia and enhances our ability to deliver for customers worldwide,” said Pat Williams, SVP Asia at Rosti.
The facility will initially employ 100 people, with plans to grow to over 200 within two years as operations scale. We would like to thank both the Swedish and Indian governments for their support in enabling this milestone project.
The Chennai facility is expected to open at the end of 2025 and will play a vital role in supporting Rosti’s global customers with agile, high-quality manufacturing closer to their markets.
