An integrated network of operations – China, Malaysia, and India

Rosti’s presence in China, Malaysia, and India adds value to regional supply chains, providing our customers with flexibility, precision, and cost-efficiency.

Rosti India adds flexibility and geographic diversity to our Asia manufacturing network. While Rosti China supports advanced manufacturing (AI-driven) and automation for established programs, and Rosti Malaysia focuses on contract manufacturing and operational stability, Rosti India offers a scalable and cost-competitive base to serve regional and global customers.

In recent years, we have diversified operations in Asia: China has been strengthened for medical devices; Malaysia offers competitive-cost, high-quality contract manufacturing; India is being developed for end-to-end contract manufacturing, leveraging the developing supply chain and diversifying Rosti’s production footprint.

Rosti India – delivering manufacturing advantages for demanding markets

Our Chennai facility will house 20 injection molding machines in a 7,500 sqm production space designed for rapid scale-up. It supports lean manufacturing, traceability, and efficient workflows tailored for contract manufacturing. Scheduled to be production ready by November 2025, the facility in India is well-positioned to handle transfer programs and is built to accommodate a wide range of consumer and industrial products.

Another advantage is that the Rosti facility is located in ESR Industrial Park in Oragadam. As the capital of Tamil Nadu, Chennai boasts a well-developed infrastructure for exports, the third largest in India. The industrial park serves as an ideal location for the manufacturing operations of leading international companies. The park is highly accessible, being near the Chennai International Airport and Chennai Seaport.

The Chennai facility stands as a testament to our commitment to delivering the same level of efficiency at all of our sites worldwide.

At the Chennai facility, modern injection molding machines operate under a digitized quality system in an automation-ready layout. Aligned with Rosti’s global standards, the facility is designed for consistent quality, process control, and traceability. It also offers real-time connectivity for performance tracking and remote support from other Rosti sites in Asia.

Rosti India is supported by Rosti’s Asia Digital Innovation Lab, which provides technical and production expertise to help bring ideas to market quickly and cost-effectively. The facility utilizes smart building techniques for more responsive, efficient, and sustainable operations.

Driving sustainability through green technology

For Rosti Groupsustainability is a highly important priority, and this commitment is reflected in the Group’s strict adherence to European standards and sustainability goals through its adoption of green technology.

Rosti India is aligned with the Group’s sustainability roadmap from day one. We have taken initiatives that include adopting energy-efficient equipment, local sourcing to reduce the carbon footprint, and implementing waste management programs.

The Chennai facility will contribute to Rosti’s goals such as increasing renewable material usage, advancing responsible sourcing, and undergoing third-party sustainability evaluations. The implementation of energy-efficient practices and local sourcing are aimed at reducing the environmental impact of material transport while also supporting the local economy.

Large skilled workforce as a competitive edge

It’s clear that in addition to being an attractive market for manufacturers, India is in an enviable position due to its strong lead in technical workforce resources. India’s skilled workforce is one of the main factors attracting foreign companies to set up their operations in the country, and Rosti recognizes this.

India offers a powerful combination of technical skills and operational reliability. Rosti India benefits from this talent pool by building a capable local team, supported by our Asia Regional Team. In particular, Chennai has a number of technical universities that are sources of creative young talent.

We plan to employ 100 people at this facility, with the workforce expected to increase over the next two years. The result is a cost-effective, flexible operation that can meet the fast-evolving requirements of customers in Asia and beyond.

Growth opportunities throughout Asia

The Chennai facility will take center stage as an example of how Rosti is meeting the highest industry standards. We adhere to international standards, including ISO 45001 for Health and Safety, and certifications such as Responsible Business Alliance and EcoVadis, in order to offer the best manufacturing solutions for our customers.

As we continue strengthening our presence in the region, Rosti India is set to become a key pillar in Rosti Group’s Asia expansion.

Rosti is planning further investments in automation, facility expansion, and transfer programs from other regions to build a world-class facility in Chennai. We’re also evaluating future growth opportunities throughout Asia to strengthen our regional presence and reinforce Rosti’s commitment to being a long-term contract manufacturing partner for global customers.
