Powering Global E-Mobility: Rosti Group’s Commitment

For over nine years, Rosti Group has been deeply committed to the EV battery storage and charging sector, supporting customers as they navigate rapid technological evolution, shifting regulations, and the global expansion of this market.

Our strength lies not only in our manufacturing capabilities, but also in partnering with our in-house Innovation and product design teams, as well as our Production Transfer team. We work alongside customers to bring compliant, scalable, and high-performance EV solutions to market, providing industry-leading contract manufacturing services.

Global e-mobility contract manufacturing partner

In 2017, we embarked on a strategic partnership with a German energy storage company focused on advancing e-mobility solutions for large vehicles. The customer had a clear ambition: to revolutionize energy storage systems within the heavy vehicle markets.

We supported them as their global plastic injection molding partner from early product development through industrialization and market launch.

The initial focus was the development of a high-performance multi-cell carrier system. This component needed to meet stringent industry standards, including:

  • Temperature resilience
  • Vibration resistance
  • Fire retardancy

Achieving this required much more than plastic injection molding capability. We worked closely with the customer’s design team to refine and optimize the product for manufacturability at scale. Significant time and engineering resources were invested in detailed design reviews and enhancements to ensure the solution was both technically innovative and production-ready.

Material selection was also critical. Rosti engaged a resin specialist and their German-based engineering team, as well as collaborating with the customer to identify materials that met regulatory, operational, and performance requirements across different regions.

Supporting scalable global growth

As global demand for energy storage systems grew, scalability became the next challenge.

To support the customer’s ambition to reach global markets with proven technology, Rosti deployed a dedicated Production Transfer team. Manufacturing processes were seamlessly transferred from Europe to North America, with duplicate tooling produced to ensure consistent quality standards across continents.

Products were validated and re-tested to meet regional regulatory requirements, while local operations support ensured continuity of supply. This wasn’t simply a relocation of manufacturing—it was a structured global expansion strategy, underpinned by process control, validation, and unified quality systems. As a result, Rosti has nearly quadrupled the volume of business we do with our customer.

We have now established production capability across two major markets to support our customer in supplying into the major heavy vehicle markets worldwide. One key benefit of our North American production is a strengthened, local supply chain and enhanced customer support.
