Tooling Transfer Enables Expanded Production

Rosti Group delivering tooling transfer and plastic injection molding contract for global packaging business

Rosti’s partnership with a leading global packaging provider continues to get stronger.

Tooling transfer and production transfer in collaboration with our customer

What started in 2019 as a single-site production program in Sweden has now grown into a collaborative, multi-site partnership that now includes a second manufacturing base with Rosti Germany.

Initially, Rosti’s Sweden facility produced plastic injection molded components that were shipped to the Netherlands for final assembly by the customer. Over time, the Rosti team worked closely with the customer to understand their broader manufacturing needs and identify opportunities for more in-depth collaboration.

That collaborative approach has now resulted in the successful approval and execution of a major Tooling Transfer Project, marking the first such production and tooling transfer for this long-standing customer. The move expanded production to Rosti Germany to meet the customer’s growing demand and to transition away from an incumbent plastic injection molding supplier in Germany.

With 40 tools split between the two sites, the project required meticulous planning and execution. Our in-house Production Transfer team, made up of highly experienced project managers, led the process from start to finish. Their expertise ensured all tooling was checked, tested, and validated before transfer, with any repairs or replacements managed in-house to protect quality and minimize disruption.

A key factor in this project’s success has been the strong cultural alignment between Rosti and the customer. Both organizations share a dedication to quality, precision, and collaboration, creating a trusted partnership.

The choice to use Rosti’s sites in Sweden and Germany was driven by both capability and geography. Each location offers extensive experience with high-cavity tooling, while Rosti Germany’s position within mainland Europe integrates smoothly into the customer’s existing supply chain, offering fast, efficient shipping into the Netherlands.

The customer’s decision to grow their partnership with Rosti was based on several key factors:

  • Financial strength and stability of the Rosti Group, offering risk mitigation and long-term reliability.
  • Proven quality and validation processes demonstrated by Rosti Sweden, delivering trust, precision, and speed.
  • Global presence and process consistency, which ensures identical quality standards across multiple sites.
  • Dedicated production and tooling transfer expertise, providing a safe and experienced team to handle complex tooling transitions.

This project reflects Rosti’s ongoing commitment to supporting customers through scalable, high-precision manufacturing solutions that combine global reach with local expertise. This enables Rosti to build long-term partnerships founded on trust, quality, and collaboration.
