Highly engaged staff celebrated Rosti’s 75th anniversary

As Rosti’s global Internal Communication Manager, and therefore responsible for The Rosti Way – the company’s culture and core values work – Jannike Linné played a key role in organizing the major 75th birthday celebrations. After months of both reflecting on the past and looking to the future, these efforts led to Rosti Way Day – a day that was celebrated at every Rosti site worldwide.
“Rosti’s employees live and work in the communities around our factories and offices – where our families, friends, and fellow citizens are – and through CSR activities, we want to do good and create benefits.” – Jannike Linné, Group Internal Communication Manager
On this special day, all 3,500 employees were invited to celebrate 75 years of success at their respective sites—success that has made the company what it is today—and to reflect on the challenges and opportunities ahead. A presentation on the company’s history helped employees learn about and feel pride in Rosti – a journey that took us from making Bakelite light-bulb holders in the early 1950s and the iconic Margrethe bowl, to today’s organization with factories around the world, producing high-quality products for well-known brands we use every day.
Across the Group, employees were highly engaged in local CSR efforts. All sites, including the head office in Malmö, took part in the Operation Clean Sweep initiative by cleaning up their local environments.
In Romania, everyone who could and wanted to donated blood, and there was an autumn clean-up at a botanical garden and the building of an insect hotel. In Poland, technicians created an inventive sensory board for children with disabilities, full of things to screw in, feel, or squeeze. In China, employees sold second-hand items and donated the proceeds to a children’s home. Rosti Malaysia has several artistic staff members who painted and sculpted artwork for an auction, with the money raised going to charity. There was a wide range of CSR activities across the factories, but everyone made a meaningful contribution to their own local communities.
“Rosti’s employees live and work in the communities around our factories and offices – where our families, friends, and fellow citizens are – and through CSR activities, we want to do good and create benefits,” says Jannike Linné.
Jannike Linné is very pleased with the 75th birthday celebrations, especially the great teamwork from the global communication team, who created a unified concept for Rosti’s 75th birthday and brought it to life. An initiative from some employees at the head office led to a flossing challenge, which was a hit, creating lots of laughs and videos on the internal communication platform.
“This was true teamwork between all of the unit’s internal communication officers, and everyone is very happy—and above all, proud—to be part of Rosti, especially after seeing a presentation of the company’s amazing history. The flossing challenge was a surprising and fun moment that proves Rosti’s employees have both a sense of humor and a competitive spirit,” concludes Jannike Linné with a big smile.
