Press 18: Out with the old, and in with the new!

In June 2014, we retired one of our longest-serving and most reliable injection molding presses. Press 18 produced over 100,000,000 components during its service and was one of the most dependable machines in our facility. However, after more than a decade of operation, it was time to invest in a replacement.

At PCI, we are committed to reinvesting in our business. With that mindset, we have purchased a brand-new, state-of-the-art Toyo Electric Injection Molding Machine to replace Press 18. This new machine is hardwired with RJG technology and is part of a fully automated manufacturing cell, which includes a new robot and upgraded part conveyance systems. This press will run more quietly than its predecessor and will actually use less electricity. Our extensive preventative maintenance program will ensure that it has a long and successful future here at PCI.

This commitment to reinvestment allows us to stay at the forefront of technology when it comes to injection molding. It is the cornerstone of our business model and allows us to operate at the high level our customers have come to expect and deserve.
