Rosti North America Launches Digital Innovation Lab to Enhance Global Injection Molding Services

Rosti North America’s new Digital Innovation Lab is helping revolutionize rapid prototyping with its accelerated concept-to-reality process in just 72 hours.

Rosti North America announced today the grand opening of its state-of-the-art Digital Innovation Lab, located at the company’s Germantown, WI manufacturing facility on Bunsen Drive.

The opening demonstrates Rosti’s unwavering commitment to streamlining the development of high-quality production prototypes and meeting the ever-evolving needs of manufacturers to bring products to market faster.

The new Digital Innovation Lab, backed by Rosti’s global investment of $1.3M, expands the group’s innovation ecosystem, joining its sister labs in Asia and Europe. Rosti North America, known for its advanced design for manufacturing (DFM) processes, engineering expertise, and modern facilities, is now further empowered with the Digital Innovation Lab.

72-hour concept-to-reality

At the heart of the Digital Innovation Lab is the extraordinary opportunity for a 72-hour concept-to-reality process. Once customers’ 3D product data and specifications are received, Rosti’s engineers get right to work. Using best practices from the company’s worldwide locations and a vast knowledge database, digital simulations are run to analyze various aspects, including gating, cooling, distortion, and cycle times. The simulations guide the tooling process, with printed tool cavities and cores manufactured using high-temperature resins.

The moldings undergo optical laser scanning, delivering complete metrology reports within minutes and preparing them for physical testing—all in just 72 hours. Even with high-heat resins, prototypes can still be produced in 2–3 weeks when steel tooling is needed.
