Rosti Utah Managing Director, Lukasz Sekula shares his thoughts on relocating from Rosti Poland

Recently appointed Rosti Utah Managing Director, Lukasz Sekula, shares his career journey since joining Rosti Poland as a Quality and Systems Manager in 2018, leading up to his move to North America as part of our senior management team.
After Rosti North America was integrated into the larger Rosti Group, Lukasz spent some time at our Utah facility toward the end of 2022, helping the team implement operational improvements throughout the site. This gave Lukasz a valuable opportunity to work closely with our global teams and experience a different culture as well as the local teams.
Lukasz joined Rosti Poland in early 2018 to focus on implementing and enhancing quality standards and customer service. Early on, his talent, professionalism, and expertise were noticed, leading to his rapid promotion in 2019 to lead the Operations and Quality functions in Bialystok, with overall responsibility for molding production, assembly, maintenance, facility, continuous improvement, and quality and management systems.
“During my three years in this position, I was able to take on numerous challenges, which gave me a chance to learn and grow both personally and professionally.
“Together with the local team, we created a great environment to support the business’s needs by investing in people and their ability to contribute to the overall success of this site,” commented Lukasz.
In 2023, Lukasz accepted the opportunity to join Rosti Utah permanently as Managing Director, taking the next strategic step in his career with the company, as we look to grow Rosti North America.
We asked Lukasz to reflect on his journey so far and his move across the Atlantic.
How has Rosti helped you develop your skills and experience?
I have the privilege of working in an open-minded environment where all ideas matter and are heard. Constructive and honest feedback and open communication with peers and line managers are central to this.
Informative performance reviews, development paths, and a goal-driven approach provide people with a clear direction for growth.
Rosti has always supported my growth and skill enhancement through training and development opportunities—especially the Executive Master of Business Administration, which Rosti strongly supported.
That helped me organize my knowledge and collaborate with people from different organizations and cultures.
Taking on projects at different levels, from very simple to highly complex ones, gave me additional exposure to business stakeholders.
What are your ambitions for Rosti Utah?
For me, there are six ambitions for Rosti Utah:
- To improve overall site efficiencies to make sure we meet our financial goals.
- Build and strengthen relationships with existing and potential customers to foster trust and collaborate on future projects.
- To improve operational standards and set the baseline to deliver products on time and at the highest quality levels our customers expect.
- Plan and implement site development strategies for future growth.
- Apply Rosti’s chosen standards and approach to maximize effectiveness—bringing even more Passion, Integrity, Excellence, and Partnership.
- Connect and collaborate—open and use bridges between US sites and other Rosti sites around the world, supporting the Rosti Way approach and knowledge-sharing opportunities.
How would you describe Rosti to a friend or colleague?
Big enough to cope, small enough to care—I think this fits for Rosti as an employer too.
Why?
Because it’s large enough to offer you lots of opportunities and benefits. It’s a stable workplace with long-term investments and a clear development strategy that ensures ongoing sustainable growth.
Rosti strives for continuous improvement, which encourages people to look for new, different, and creative solutions—and this ensures ongoing progress and development.
On the other hand, it’s still small enough, without too much corporate formality. So, if you’re driven to contribute, willing to go the extra mile, and if you connect, deliver, and improve, then your achievements, contribution, and aspirations will be easily recognized.
I’d even say you have a great opportunity to build your own brand within the company. You can truly impact how the company performs and help build its future every single day.
What do you enjoy most about being a part of Rosti?
If I have to choose one thing – it would be diversity.
Each site can decide how best to serve their customers, create value, and fit into their market.
And somehow, it’s all still possible while staying in line with the Rosti Way.
I think it’s because of our cultural foundation, which helps every site stick to the way we do business as Rosti, while still operating in different business and cultural environments.
For me personally, this is Rosti’s greatest advantage—if we can learn from each other, inspire each other, challenge the status quo, and confront different viewpoints, it’s never boring.
