Newly appointed Rosti Utah Managing Director, Lukasz Sekula shares his career journey since joining Rosti Poland as a Quality and Systems Manager in 2018, culminating with moving across to North America as part of our senior management team.

Following the integration of Rosti North America into the wider Rosti Group, Lukasz spent a period of time at our Utah facility towards the end of 2022, supporting the team in implementing operational improvements across the production facility. This provided Lukasz with the opportunity to gain valuable exposure alongside our global teams as well as experience a different culture and local teams.

Lukasz joined Rosti Poland in early 2018 to focus on implementing and enhancing quality standards and customer service levels. From an early stage, his talent, professionalism, and expertise were noticed, hence his rapid progression in 2019 to lead the Operations and Quality function in Bialystok, with overall responsibility for molding production, assembly, maintenance, facility, continuous improvement, and quality and management systems.

“Throughout my three years in this role, I was able to tackle numerous challenges, which allowed me the opportunity to learn and develop, both personally and professionally.

“Together with the local team, we have built a great environment to support the business needs thanks to investing in individuals and their ability to contribute to the overall success of this site,” commented Lukasz.

In 2023, Lukasz accepted the opportunity to join Rosti Utah permanently as Managing Director, taking the next strategic step in his career with the company, as we look to grow Rosti North America.

We asked Lukasz to reflect on his journey to date and his move across the Atlantic.

I have the privilege to work within an open-minded environment, where all ideas matter and are listened to. Constructive and honest feedback and close-loop communication with peers and line managers are central to this.

Informative performance reviews, development paths, and a goal-oriented approach provide a clear direction for people to grow.

Rosti has always supported me to enhance my knowledge and skills through training and development opportunities, especially Executive Master of Business Administration, which was greatly supported by Rosti.

That helped me to structure my knowledge as well as collaborate with people from different organisations and cultures.

Taking on different levels of projects, from very simple to highly complex ones, gave me additional exposure to business stakeholders.

For me, there are 6 ambitions for Rosti Utah:

To improve overall site efficiencies to ensure our financial targets are met.
Build and strengthen relationships with existing and potential customers to build trust and collaborate on future projects.
To improve operational standards and set the baseline to deliver products on time and at the highest quality levels expected by our customers.
Plan and execute site development strategy for future growth.
Engage chosen Rosti standards and approach to maximise effectiveness, bringing even more Passion, Integrity, Excellence, and Partnership.
Connect and collaborate – open and utilize bridges between US sites and other Rosti sites across the globe, to support the Rosti Way approach and knowledge-sharing opportunities.

Big enough to cope, small enough to care – I think this works also for Rosti as an employer.

Why?

What do you most enjoy about being a part of Rosti?

If I need to choose one thing – it would be Diversity.

Every site can decide how to serve their customers best, how to create value, and how to fit into their market.

And somehow, it is all possible still in line with Rosti Way.

I think it is because of our cultural foundation, which helps all sites adhere to the way we do business as Rosti, but still live within different business and cultural environments.

For me, personally, this is the greatest advantage of Rosti, if we can learn from each other, we can inspire, we can challenge the status quo, and confront different viewpoints and it is never boring.
