SPNC Donates Equipment to Local K-12 Schools

True Light Shines Academy is a K-12 school that integrates spirituality throughout its core subjects and aims to enhance the overall academic process and experience through direct family involvement in learning.

With a commitment to supporting the local community through service and other contributions, Syracuse Plastics of North Carolina selected True Light Shines Academy as one of two recipients of an equipment donation totaling 21 items. True Light Shines Academy’s share of the donation included multiple vertical stands, force gauges, and a durometer.

SPNC Donates Equipment to Local K-12 Academies

Triangle Math and Science Academy (TMSA) is a STEM-focused public K-12 charter school in Cary, NC. TMSA offers a rigorous, research-based curriculum with a strong emphasis on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. TMSA’s share of the donation included:

  • 24-inch Fowler Vertical Digital Caliper
  • 24-inch Caliper (Mitutoyo)
  • 12-inch Caliper (Mitutoyo)
  • 24-inch Digital Caliper

“Our entire organization is dedicated to training and educating future generations, and we hope this donation helps support the technology-based academic programs at TMSA and True Light Shines Academy,” said Durwood Williams, General Manager of Syracuse Plastics of North Carolina. “Many team members worked together and generously donated their time to organize the equipment. I’m grateful for their dedication and enthusiasm in making contributions that have a significant impact on the youth in our community.”

 

SPNC Donates Equipment to Local K-12 Academies

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, by 2020, demand for skilled technologists will surpass qualified applicants by one million. Currently, 15 of the 20 fastest-growing fields require significant math and science preparation. Additionally, students who graduate from STEM programs often find themselves better prepared for the demands of college courses that lead to careers in science or engineering. Over the past five years, TMSA has received the highest possible School Performance Grade.
